About Mynydd Llanllwni
Part of a range of moorlands in mid West Wales - which also includes Mynydd Llanybydder, and Mynydd Llanfihangel Rhos Y Corn - at the southern end of the Cambrian mountains; part of which was once nominated for national parks status.
In spite of its less well known status it offers a delightful retreat from the noise and disruption of modern living.
The Mountain area provides a rich habitat for around a hundred rare bird species including Red Kites, Sparrow Hawks, Cuckoos; and other wildlife such as Badgers, Voles, and Bats. The area also boasts rare flora including wild bilberries, heathers, various rare mosses, and grasses, as well as a resource for local grazing for farming, hill walking and bridle paths.
